We had a wonderful time tonight! As you can see in the invitation, our addresses here are bizarre.  As specific as they are our GPS gets more confused than not!

We took a few minutes at the beginning of the night to eat some pizza and visit and get to know one another.

We watched a video presentation "The Book of Mormon"; the new series the church put out ~ absolutely fabulous, and then Elder Firth gave a sweet lesson and testimony.

As most of you know, I L💙VE playing games ~ ANY game ~ if I come across a game that I don't particularly like I will still play it just to be playing (e.g. TIME'S UP 😏!)!

Our 5 finalists ~ I can't remember who the final two were but it was a great night and a super success to bring everyone together for a fun night of socializing and spiritually feasting.

Our turn out was great and I think our goal was accomplished: 

Faith Promoting, Humorous and Entertaining!

Tonight I was still feeling a bit worn out but decided I was up to going "Streetboarding"  with the missionaries. This is where they stand on a side-walk and share the story of the Restoration with others. We met up with the 6 missionaries (Sisters: Tuecher, Gaskin and Elders: Mclaws, Laker, Firth and Sarkaty) around 5pm on the coldest winter night of the year.  Fortunately, we were bundled up nice and toasty warm and found a spot on a bridge in front of 

a beautiful river.  The wind was howling and blowing so hard that the Elders were unable to put up their Restoration poster sign.  Bill and I stood around for a bit and watched the sweet Sisters and Elders reach out (or block them in 😉) and talk to anyone who looked half interested in listening! The cold weather didn't stop them from sharing the message of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of His Gospel in these latter days!

It was so windy that the sign the Elders put up kept blowing down 😞😞.

Billy thought we could be a little more productive by going over across the street and handing out his Website cards to those going in or coming out of the Metro station.  Most people wouldn't bother taking a card so Bill thought we would be more successful if we showed them the "Facebook" contact information on the backside of the card. We would show them the card and ask them if they used "Facebook".  This was much more effective and Billy handed out over 50 cards and I got brave enough to do this and I handed out about 10 (I felt very proud of myself considering this was my first time actually reaching out to strangers while feeling 

out of my confront zone 😊).  It was very exciting when someone would actually take a card.  I would give a big smile and say, "Multumesc" meaning 'Thank~You'.  Multumesc is only the 2nd word I have learned here in Romania.  Just like in Thailand, I keep getting corrected because of my pronunciation (or mispronunciation ~ Deja Vu 😛)!

Last night there was a gorgeous snowfall; it probably snowed 12 inches.  Bill and I were all snug as bugs in bed watching as huge flakes fell to the ground. Then again this morning the snow was twirling around coming down at great speed.

These two picture are from looking out over our balcony ~ it was so beautiful!

We did not get this much snow today but hopefully in the future 🏂!

This morning (Friday 1/17/20) we had district meeting!

Billy has become an expert Romanian driver and even without 
our GPS working, he managed to get us to the church on time!

I couldn't get a good picture of all our missionary's today because we were running late and they had another meeting  to go to.

As I watch these Sisters and Elders I feel an extra overwhelming love for 
our grandson, Kobe, who is serving in Mexico.  He had a very interesting 
few months while he's been out: first he was mugged then suffered with 
appendicitis.  It worried us all, especially his Mom and Dad but all went 
well and he is healed and out serving again! 

(7) ~Is it a sacrifice? ~ Romania 🇷🇴Mission

It's hard leaving the ones you love.  We will miss arrivals of new babies, the growth of our grandchildren, activities, reunions, dinners and just hanging out with all of them. These beautiful children are the only reason we are able to go on a mission and feel good about it!  It is because of them that we won't have to worry about them, their incredible spouses and our adorable grandkids. You are all temple worthy, are teaching your children the gospel principles and bearing testimony 

of the plan of happiness, the Book of Mormon and of our loving Heavenly Father 

and His beloved Son and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for being strong and valiant! We love you and will miss you guys tremendously.  Thank you for supporting us and Marco Polo'ing us so we can still see the kids and be a semi~part of your life! You are the cream of the crop. ~ Thank you~

~ The love of family is life's greatest blessing ~

In this life there are a lot of sacrifices that everyone has to make. Of course we will miss our old life, our family, our friends but what a tremendous blessing to serve a Mission.  We've already seen miracles ~ at home and abroad.  We know our children will be watched over and cared for.  Our hope is that by serving a mission and helping others, we can bring the joy and happiness of the Gospel into other peoples life. We don't see it as a Sacrifice ~ not at all. We owe our whole life to Heavenly Father ~ everything we have is because of Him.  Without the Savior and His sacrifices our life would be pointless ~ without hope. When we look around us at all the blessings we have been given it is only right to give others the opportunity to Come unto Christ.  If we can be a small part of that, it will be no sacrifice at all.

Good morning stranger, how long has it been? 

I have so much to catch up on but I won’t worry about 

that now, as I am going to start from today and go forward!

What an exciting day in the MTC (Missionary Training Center)! 

The Spirit is strong and the people are wonderful!  This is truly an 

experience of a lifetime ~ of course I’d like to have this experience at 

least a few more times, so once in a life time is hopefully incorrect 😉. 

It's official!

We entered the MTC on January 6, 2020 and from the get go I knew it would be fantastic.  We were hooked up with a another ‘couple’ companionship.  They were Dale and Cheryl (Pronounced Chair-el) Johnson.  What a delightful couple they were! They live in Orem and come from hardly Pioneer stock!  We became instant friends and enjoyed their company throughout the entire week. 

We had Brother Kidd and Brother Zundal as our daily teachers.  What amazing

 young returned Missionary’s these two young men were.  Brother Kidd should be a 

professional teacher.  He was outstanding in every single way. He was patient, offered 

great examples, was wonderful in positive feedback, he engaged with the class, took 

time to listen and he turned the questions back to the class to think about and answer.  

He made sure never to force anyone to speak.  I can’t say enough good about him ~ 

we’d love to have him as an instructor for our 2nd mission. We had Brother Zundal as 

our afternoon instructor; he was wonderful, too!  He was moved by the spirit and very 

open with his personal experiences, which I loved.  You could tell he cared about us and 

would often times bare his testimony about a topic whenever he was prompted. 

They both were always prepared and it was just a delight to be with both of them this week!
