(18) ~ happy 30th anniversary ~ Romania 🇷🇴Mission

Today was a glorious day!  We had an hour of Sacrament Meeting with music and talk's and then we had a special 2+ hours of celebrating the 30th Anniversary of when President Russell M Nelson dedicated the land of Romania for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was phenomenal.  The spirit was so strong. I can't describe it enough; the anniversary program consisted of about 12 members who shared their testimony's and then many members who shared their testimony through song.  The spirit was so strong.  I have never been to such an amazing, uplifting meeting. Everyone one in Romania is an adult convert; meaning that there is only a handful of those that were born into a family that were already members and would have been baptized when they were 8 yrs old. With the church being only 30 years old it has taken many years to have it grow as big as it is. It is incredible to hear story after story of how the Book of Mormon testified to the speakers as a 2nd witness of Jesus Christ and touched so many lives.

Each speaker had the most incredible story of how the Missionary's found them or they had found the Missionary's.  Story after story of how the Holy Ghost confirmed to them the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the principles of the Gospel and the understanding of a loving Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.  Their Testimonies were life changing and you could feel, hear and see the joy in their hearts. What a gift it is to have the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation.  All of these people found happiness through the Gospel and their stories were of faith and hope and charity. This is President Hettinger with one of the members ~ he and Sora Hettinger went around and greeted everyone.  They are the best Mission President and Mom.  We had people from all over Romania take buses, trains and the metro to make it for the celebration.  It was one huge family reunion! The women provided a smorgasbord of food; everything was scrumptious. There was the sweetest spirit there.

I wish I would have taken more pictures as it was such a sweet celebration and everyone was having such a wonderful time reuniting with members that they had not seen for a very long time.  I would love to have made it into a 2 to 4 day celebration!
I don't know if the music will come through but one is of a congregational hymn and the other is a brethren singing a joyful Romania folk song. Beautiful!
After church the snow was melting from a little blizzard the night before. It was gorgeous and topped off the beauty of the day!
