~accidents will happen

We took a little visit to the Hospital tonight~                    Sun 11/6/16
Bill was riding on his Moto yesterday, minding his own business, traveling up the side of the road to get to the front of the line (with all the other Moto's here in Cambodia), when he got a little too close to the curb and somehow got his little toe caught on something (wearing Flip-Flops) and ripped it backward!!

His toe definitely looked weird (contrary to Bill insisting that it looked out of
shape because it was "swollen").  I was pretty sure (since it was facing a different
direction than his other toes) that there was more going on than a "bruised" toe.
We headed to the hospital Sunday night and sure enough not only
was it dislocated, it was twisted and a lot of bone fragments
had broken off when it 'popped' off the joint.

1. Inserting the needle to numb the area.  2. Checking to see if it worked!

The Dr had to pull up on the toe then rotate it back around (video of the gruesome act below: WARNING not for the faint-hearted).
This was the fantastic (nice and funny) Orthopedic Specialist, Dr. Kriwut Leurmprasert. The regular Doctor and Assistant got away before I could snap their picture!  The funnest was that both of these doctors were THAI!  Billy was able to speak with them in their native tongue and I got to practice my "4" words of Thai!

Before (his other toes were taped away from his pinkie) and After
Good as New!!
The few bone fragments that broke off will be
floating around, but over all it is perfect!
You can see the great nurse/assistant and the medical Dr in this video, since I didn't get a photo of them.
28 seconds of Gruesome
16 more seconds to get the real affect.

The best part is (if we are looking for a silver lining) that after 2 x-rays,
2 visits with the Doctor and the Orthopedic Specialist putting his toe back in
place the cost was only $80 (without insurance!)!  Almost makes you want to
go to the Hospital more often while we are here . . . almost!
