Surgery (not ours) ~ România 🇷🇴Mission ~

10/2/20
 Ouchers
Elder Chandler (blue sweater) had an ingrown toenail.  It just kept getting worse and worse.  It totally looked infected but as most of you know, men, in general, do not like to go to the doctor and feel that things will work there way out without any medical help.  They did talk with our doctor in Hungary and sent a picture but pictures just did not do it justice.  Elder Chandler was a brave soul and if any of you have had an ingrown toenail you know how excruciating they can be.  Anyhoooo, Elder Sarkady did some minor surgery (per instructions from the doctor) but that did not minimize the toe pain.  So finally he made an appt with the doctor and they needed to go in surgically and fix it.  We all slipped into the waiting room (3pm) and he signed in.  Because of the pandemic no one was able to go in with him which was extremely upsetting to me as I just feel that you should always have someone with you until you are knocked out unconsciously! We promised Elder Chandler that we would take him out to a good hamburger place afterward!
Well . . . 😏 Bill, Elder Sarkady and me had 3 hours to run errands before we could pick up Elder Chandler and since none of us had eaten (supporting Elder Chandlers pre-surgery fast) and it was already after 4pm we decided to grab a bite and then take Elder Chandler to get something after surgery.  We didn't mean to go to the most scrumptious hamburger place in the city but that was the nearest one to us (Vivo - Fusion Food Bar). The picture in the middle is our friend Denise's daughter.  She is a model and also a famous singer.  On the way to church one Sunday the 2 adorable grandsons were in the back seat and they saw a huge billboard and said, "There's Mama" ~ so cute!

After we picked up Elder Chandler (successful surgery) we told him we had already eaten and he could choose someplace to eat and we would take him to the delicious hamburger place before the next transfer.   He choose the KFC in the mall by our house then we all went shopping (after I gave him a good dose of Advil) and got the items they needed for a couple that are trying to quit smoking.  This is the 1 week successful church program that Eva was on (and she was baptized this last Saturday 💙😇💙)! On the ride home we passed a concert hall and there were 4 horse mounted police officers in front of the gate.  We weren't fast enough to snap a picture but the Elder's got one of a bubble fountain (pranksters here in Romania) and the cutest little car EVER!  The next morning I got up and took the boys back for Elder Chandlers post-op checkup.  The hospitals here are a bit kooky and they had to rip out a piece of gauze (or tape or something) and almost made him come back a 3rd time. Fortunately, someone came in who knew what they were doing and took care of it 😳 so no more appts unless he gets an infection (and we'll keep a good eye on it)!
