~TEMPLE DAY~

I accidentally took us to one of our Chapels (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints)
instead of the Temple.  By this time we were about 20 minutes from the Temple (by car)
and wouldn't make our session if we continued to walk or even take the subway
so we had to get an Uber.  This is a picture of Bill forgiving me!

We've had quite a bit of problems with our GPS here in New York,
but between the 2 of us we've managed to make it to all our destinations!


Made it to the Temple and had a wonderful session; Bill had gotten a large pair of pants and
since he has lost so much weight and didn't have suspenders his pants kept falling down 😂!
The Temple is very unique here in New York as they have wards on Sunday that meet on
some of the floors and if you need to rent clothes for the endowment it is on another
floor and then the session and other ordinances are all on another level.  It is pretty
awesome how they utilize the space in Manhattan for this beautiful building.

On our way home we came across KOBEYAKI ~ I wanted to get a picture
of it as our first grandson is named Kobe (we will be visiting them tomorrow)!

Taking the Subway and Path home ~ it is always good to have a copy of the subway schedule on your iPhone as it can get quite confusing for newbies like us (or maybe I should say, "old folks" like us)!

Sweet Baby Penny's Blessing Day!

Isn't she the most perfect baby in the world.
She was so quiet as Kenny gave a beautiful blessing to her.

Penny is our 14th grandchild, 7th granddaughter.
Don't you just love how she is looking at the camera!

Kenny and Lindsay are such amazing parents and love this little baby more than life itself!
Such a fun day with friends and family.

This gorgeous blessing dress was Lindsays' grandmothers; what a beautiful
tradition to pass down to her great granddaughter.  Lindsay got this blanket
from her travels in Jerusalem right before her and Kenny were married.
The Matthews Clan that were able to join in this sacred day: Sarah and Timmy, me (Jamie), Lindsay and Kenny, Kelli, Lincoln, London and Robbie. Billy was in Cambodia (so Kenny could be here) so
he was unable to be here (which it was a bit more important for Kenny to be here than Bill 😉)!

There is nothing better than having family around.

Let's Facilitate Some Training
This is Bill and my 2nd semester working with Steve and Jeanne Anderson (who are the most amazing leaders over the Self Reliance Program).  Tonight was our first meeting with a few of our YSA's (young single adults) down at BYU; they're getting trained on how to be facilitators at the Wednesday/Sunday SR classes.

 

Billy and I bring refreshments (usually 20 kids on Sundays and about 150 on Wednesday night which include the Institute kids) and decorate the tables 

(that's mostly my part)! Tonight we had Ice Cream and Apple Pie!

This was at the end of the evening - the table didn't look too exciting by this time!

Jeanne was helping distribute the BYU Creamery ice cream!

There were only 5 kids that showed up tonight, a few had excuses and the others must have had something come up or forgot.  We'll have the huge kickoff Devotional this Sunday with, hopefully, about a hundred kids.

Kierren, our London Church Leader, asked if I got a new hair cut - 

I just pointed out a few of these split ends 😂😉😝!
