~Wonderful Christmastime 1981

HOLIDAY MEMORIES OF THE MATTHEWS FAMILY
Billy, Jamie and Mindy

This Christmas Mindy was 1 year and 8 months old.  I can't imagine our life without her!
This year has gone by so fast!  She is the most delightful baby.  I am so lucky to be
able to stay home and be with her every waking hour!  This Christmas was so fun
as she knew what was going on and was thrilled with all the lights and decorations!

On Christmas Eve we went to Grandma and Grandpa Matthews' (Bill and Dorothy) house.  After dinner we went to Great Grandma & Grandpa Harris’ house (Edna and David - Dorothy's parents) and sang Christmas carols and had a lot of fun visiting. Grandma was sick and bed bound. Everything got a little hectic and there wasn’t enough time for the program and we all went home that night.

Christmas morning we went over to the Matthews’ and their house was covered with presents (Billy is back in the corner observing it all)!  We hung out with everyone and stayed there till evening.
Gammie couldn’t be with us this Christmas but she sent lots of fun toys for Mindy!

We celebrated Grandpa Matthews' birthday at our home in Antioch on December 14th!
Tommy and Mikey shared their Big Wheel with Mindy - notice the little tool belt she also borrowed!  She is so adorable and I can't believe she is ours!!!

HOLIDAY MEMORIES OF THE MATTHEWS FAMILY
Billy, Jamie and Mindy
We had our first baby girl, Mindy Marie Matthews, on April 24th of this year; it made this Christmas extraordinary!  It was a joy to have a child as wonderful and sweet as Mindy.  She is a delightful treasure and it was so incredible to see our little wonder have so much fun unwrapping presents
and looking at all the decorations with such awe! Such an incredible month!

For Bill and Dorothy's Christmas present from us kids, we arranged to have a group picture taken for them.  Dorothy was crying as she opened and saw all our group and individual family pictures!
Such Fun!
Here is Dorothy taking pictures, Cindy, Mindy and Jenny (who is 3 months older than Mindy)!
Mindy was 8 months old and wasn't quite sure what was going on.  We had dinner and a program at Bill and Dorothy's then went home to our condominium for Christmas Eve.  On Christmas morning we divided our time between our house and the Matthews' and my Mom's trailer (she had come out to care for Baba before her death and stayed on in Baba’s trailer)!  It was nice having everyone so close!

Mindy was my Mom's 1st grandchild and the love of her life!  She hadn't had a baby in her arms for 20 years and Mindy seemed to fill a void for her.  She was her pride and joy and could do no wrong (and Mindy, being as perfect as she was she, really never did do any wrong)!  I rented Billy a piano keyboard for Christmas as he wanted to get back into playing!  Mindy loved sitting and 'practicing' with Bill!
